Date casually, and if YOU want something more, instigate it. But getting a girlfriend is more work than most guys think, so if you're not sure, keep it casual. In high school dating and relationships can be very time consuming. As I have chosen not to bother with boyfriends, I say no don't bother with girlfriends.
