Why do guys wear boxers underneath a bathing suit?

in this modern society any time it is obvious that you have a penis, you are either labeled as weird or gay for showing it, although we all known guys have penises

but in reality most swimtrunks have a built in liner like briefs to support the genitals...

from the time I first wore them to now I have never worn underwear with them, my dad never did and I just followed his example, this is from the time I was a young boy wearing white briefs, a teenager wearing boxers, or a early 20 year old now freeballing every day, but no matter the underwear I wore outside of swim trunks I never wore them with swimtrunks

and if you are one of the lucky ones who does go without in swim trunks, be happy, because when wearing undies the underwear gets VERY wet and can create a rash down there, not to mention its VERY uncomfortable to do so

seriously they do?I'm shocked.especially if they're going into the water instead of just strolling about.while at that,why in so many american teen movies n drama i see guys diving into the water with all their clothes on,while girls strip down to underwear even before getting in the water?Thats way too abnormal.clothes off should be for water activities,on land clothes should be on.and there shouldnt be difference in that between genders.
