It's head is hammer shaped. It does not use its head like a hammer.
The Hammerhead Shark Has This type of head so that it could swim faster.
Erm, no, though a common misconception. The reason behind this weird (WEIRD.) shape is for visual purposes. The eyes are at the ends, and since the eyes are evolved far apart, the Sharks have a 360° view of their surroundings- the perfect tool for a predator.
The hammerhead shark needs to keep swimming to breathe. The Hammerhead's head shape is actually shaped the way it is so that it can help keep the shark above the ocean floor. That helps the shark maintain a constant swim so that it can continue to breathe so that it does not drown.
That's how God made them. No geneticist has EVER yet been able to show a mutation that codes for a hammerhead or even a mutation that can generate a shark from ANY OTHER type of animal. Therefore, the way we see them now is how they were created. There are variations in color and different genus of sharks produced from breeding. No one has shown a radical head shape and differing eye placement and speciallized ampullae arrangement as the results of a mutation.

Anterior binocular vision, this means that they can see prey from a distance and perfectly judge it, etc...
I also believ this is down to evolution
They have a cephalofoil shaped head because it helps them smell.Since the shape of the head causes the nostrils to be positioned wider apart, this aids the fish in determining the direction of a given scent, not to mention the hydrodynamic function point to the hammers' overwhelming similarity to an airfoil or canard. The hammer of all species is wing shaped in cross-section (flattened on the lower surface and rounded on the upper) and may therefore impart lift above the hammer. Hammerheads are known to be among the most negatively buoyant of sharks. Although the size of the hammer varies from species to species, the combined surface area of hammer plus pectoral fins remains relatively constant. This suggests that some critical ratio of planing surfaces to body size is being maintained. Recent work suggests that hammerheads may have autonomic control over the trailing edge of their hammers, adding a measure of maneuverability as well as lift. The "hammer head" also helps in locating prey because it broadens the surface area of their head on which the ampullae of lorenzini is located. These electricity detecting pores allow it to detect hidden prey. and it is in these ways that the hammerhead shark have a hammer head.
It is called it because it's head shape is like a hammer.
The "cephalofoil" enables them to achieve 360-degree visual coverage of their environment to facilitate foraging.
The Hammerhead shark gets its name because of it's unusual head, which is shaped like a hammer.
They are just made that way
Because the God made them like that
Its head is a hammer
Yes hammer head sharks are born, and they come out alive not like a larva.
