Brake light switch needs adjusting or replacement.

Check the brake light fuse, the bulbs, the brake light switch and last, check the signal switch.

Check the brake switch on the brake pedal, if the switch is bad or a fuse is blown, the shifter will not release.

never done a tercel before, but generally the back lights and brake lights are reached by going into the trunk or hatcback. you may have to pull back some lining to reach the lights

Above the brake pedal. If your main brake lights dont work but your third center brake light does, then the brake light switch is not the problem. Its is the turn signal switch.

that sounds like i ground in the bake by the lights or if it has a trailer plug i would start their

Check bulbs Check fuse Check the operation and adjustment of the stop light switch

you have to open the hatch, take all the plastic interior apart, just to get to your bulbs. its a pain.

Start with the fuses, then check the bulbs, then start tracing wires.

i have a 92 explorer and I'm a mechanic.... u have an overheating problem.... do you see any leaks?

My 92 Silverado right front brake sticking why

there is a hole at the back of the brake/drum assembly which has a small gear in it. turn it with using a screw driver to loosen the brake grip-while turning it, try to rotate the drum from time to time to help ease out.

Usually you have to press the brake to release from park, if this does not work, there is a fuse to operate this. Check with your local Ford dealer, they can help you.

I had the same problem in my 92 and 93. Someone had messed with the ground. I think it was a white wire with a black stripe.

all my light work, changed my break light switch still dont have break lighs,i have good grounds

my brake light stay on but emergency brake is unhooked

Check for voltage at the socket. My guess would be that you lost a chassis ground in the trunk. Look near the trunk hinges in the luggage compartment for loose/hanging wires and inspect the connections you find for tightness/corrosion.

Check brake fluid to make sure it has not gone dry, if so then will require a total bleed brake system. Have the brakes been replaced recently? Could have a piston in the caliper stuck, which will then require to pull that caliper and replace it but then look at doing both.

Should be located at the upper end of brake pedal
