Don't know which vehicle you have, but it sounds like there is a linkage between you ignition key and shifter. This basically allows your ignition key to lock your shifter, it prevents someone from shifting your car into neutral and pushing it away, or keeps a child playing from rolling your car down the hill into the house.
The problem is as things wear it car work backwards, your shifter is placing pressure on your ignition switch, pressure you relive by lifting it. If its become a problem your mechanic may be able to adjust the linkage. I would just get used to it.
Are you asking about the shift lever on a column shift car or the console shift handle?
G force
Momentum.
No, but why would you?
You need to lift your left foot off of the clutch pedal.
its going to be some were on the tranny a small metal rode is going to be connected to the park/shift solenoid and that metal rode runs throw and connects to your shift handle inside the car/truck
A lot of newer cars have a "lever" you must lift to shift into reverse. It's a safety feature to keep from throwing your car into reverse instead of 5th gear. Mine is a ring right below the knob that you lift up. See if you car has something similar.
You take a turn with a manual car the same as you do with an automatic car. You will need to shift down to second gear and keep your foot on the clutch while turning.
well it is all because you may shift your car to quickly and the engine may not be able to handle it. but it may be the transmition.
i have the same car you just have to turn it to your left
this works on a legacy 1995 250T. 1)Open the drivers door. 2)insert and turn key to on position. 3)lift and hold drivers door handle for about 5 seconds. car will give a long beep. 4)make up a code ie. lift the handle and let it go for the number one. do it twice in succession for two etc. wait fot the beep at the end of each number. 5)input 4 numbers. car does not accept 1,1,1,1 6)the car will beep a few times. 7)repeat your code. 8)the car should now be programed. 9)take out key, close door and lock, give the code a go. 10)if you stuf up trying, just lift the handle a few times until the car does abit longer beep.
There are two types... To lift a car, in the form of a car lift, lift off the ground. The other is to lift a car with a suspension lift, installing taller springs, etc.
