Why do ladybugs need sunshine?

To carry out life sustaining activities, ladybugs [Coccinellidae family] need sunshine. As is the case with the rest of nature, ladybugs have a specific range of heat and light within which they lead their lives. Below that range, they may go dormant or die. Above that range, they may overheat, hyper act, or die.
