Survival in hot deserts has always posed a problem for man; Moses had to solve it in order to lead the children of Israel through the wilderness of the Sinai-a formidable hot desert. It seems likely that the present inhabitants of the Sinai, the Bedouins, would have optimised their solutions for desert survival during their long tenure in this desert Yet, one may have doubts on first encountering Bedouins wearing black robes and herding black goats. We have therefore investigated whether black robes help the Bedouins to minimise solar heat loads in a hot desert. This seemed possible because experiments have shown that white hair on cattle1,2 and white feathers on pigeons3 permit greater penetration of short-wave radiation to the skin than black. In fact, more heat flowed inward through white pigeon plumage than through black when both were exposed to simulated solar radiation at wind speeds greater than 3 m s-1 (ref. 3). We report here that the amount of heat gained by a Bedouin exposed to the hot desert is the same whether he wears a black or a white robe. The additional heat absorbed by the black robe was lost before it reached the skin.
Bedouins and Berbers wear black headdresses for cultural and practical reasons. Black clothing can help absorb and dissipate heat rather than reflect it, providing some protection against the harsh desert sun. Additionally, black headdresses are often made from wool, which helps to insulate and regulate body temperature in hot and cold environments.
The main character's name, Esperanza, translates to "hope" in English. It reflects her aspirations for a better life and her desire to overcome the challenges she faces in her community.
"Mas mabuti" is the Tagalog translation for "better".
I need to find a better solution for this problem.
The sentence "You should of known better" derives from "You should've known better"; "should of" sounds about like the way you say "should've".Of course "should've" is a contraction of "should have" - consequently it is correct to say either "You should have known better" or (being a bit informal) "You should've known better" but it is incorrect to WRITE "You should of known better" instead of "You should've known better."
NoThe sentence "You should of known better." derives from "You should've known better."; "should of" sounds about like "should've". Of course "should've" is a contraction for "should have" so the correct sentence is either "You should have known better." or (if speaking informally and using contractions) "You should've known better." Writing the sentence as "You should of known better." instead of "You should'veknown better." is INCORRECT.
Neon bows are beta but depending on if the headdress is rare it's better but if it's not a rare a neon bow and headdress would be considered at equal value.
ANY material reflects light. Some do so better than others.
reflects lasers better than metal
Yoda is better with jedi power and the Emperor. In the end, I think that Yoda is better because he has the good power with him. It is just like God and Lucifer. Yoda reflects the good power and the emperor reflects the bad.
yellow because yellow reflects the heat and black exarbs the heat.So yellow is better.
Lots of materials do that; for example, the asphalt on a street.
White surfaces reflects light - black absorbs it
mist. the sound reflects off the water drops.
No, it reflects just as much sunlight then. Your eyes are better adjusted to see the brightness at night, though.
The Aztecs wore elaborate headdresses made of feathers as a symbol of rank and status. Feathers from exotic birds like quetzals and toucans were highly prized and reserved for nobles and warriors. These headdresses were often decorated with precious stones and shells.
Paper absorbs the light, but the shiny surface of the mirror reflects it.
Yes. Black is way better than white because it absorbs heat whereas white reflects it.
