Most higher organisms are diploid, which means that they have two sets of chromosomes. Plant breeding often leads to polyploidy, or the presence of extra sets of chromosomes.
For example, roses are supposed to have 14 chromosomes (two sets of 7). Some rose hybrids have 21, 28, 35 or 42 chromosomes. Plants are able to expand their genome to allow for greater variety.
The same isn't true for humans. Even one extra chromosome in humans can lead to birth defects, mental deficiency and even fetal demise.
Both young people and all people are blessed or also said "better off" than ancestors due to scientific advances in health and modern medicines. Aside from health issues, the areas of education are now more readily available in modern times than in the past. In addition, the cause of human rights has advanced from times in the past.
There are many many varieties of roses, as such almost all roses have more than one variety, from the knockout rose bush to hybrid tea roses to multi-colored genetically engineered roses.

Australopithecus afarensis is not a direct ancestor of modern humans but is an ancestral species that lived around 3-4 million years ago. It is believed to be closely related to the common ancestor of humans and chimpanzees. Other hominid species such as Homo habilis and Homo erectus are considered more direct ancestors to modern humans.
The crayfish has more than 200 chromosomes.
it makes the ground more fertile around the roses.

The ancestors of cetaceans began to move into the water and develop aquatic characteristics about 50 million years ago. They have been evolving ever since, gradually becoming more and more aquatic. Today's cetaceans live entirely in water. The ancestors of pinnipeds began moving into water much more recently, about 23 million years ago. Because of this, modern pinnipeds are not as fully aquatic as cetaceans. The ancestors of sirenians began moving into the water about 40 million years ago, and have been evolving since then.
They double into more chromosomes.
