as compasses work on geomagnetism, it would have to be some abnormal magnetic field- this would not, of course affect Gyrocompasses which are non-magnetic- but are driven by electrically-powered motors which drive the vital 53 Pound rotor. if electrical power was affected- they to could go off course. There was a case where a distant ( unknown to the crew) Earthquake in Greece- and logs bore this out- when corrected for time zones- caused the master and steering compasses ( one magnetic, the other Gyro-repeater) to act up in mid=ocean only for a few minutes- which corresponded to the time of the Seismic action. ( King Neptune drinks a bit!) kidding aside- possibly something akin to submarine volcanos, tidal waves, may be taken into account.

Well, it is very popular for the death of Amelia Earhart, but I would say its dangerous because its an ocean. Oceans are dangerous let alone. But, the Bermuda Triangle is famous for its dangerous waves. I believe that it may be dangerous because of the people that died there. Maybe the ghosts haunt the Bermuda Triangle.

Do planes now fly through the Bermuda triangle?

The area known as the Bermuda Triangle is an area that has the fast Gulf Stream current and at times it has areas that are calm with no breezes. This can cause boats to be carried off course or sail boats to be stranded. It also seems to have some magnetic anomaly that does effect the compasses of boats and aircraft. This could explain why aircraft get off course and get lost.

How can some ship pass the Bermuda triangle?

Might makes right- they are big ships and not bothered by hazards which would be a problem with, say a thirty foot yacht.

Why can a ship pass Bermuda triangle?

No, there is no point of sailing in that area because it makes the objects disappear. Anyone who sails out of Miami, Bermuda, or Puerto Rico are sailing into the 'Bermuda triangle'. That includes the major cruise lines and airlines and hundreds of thousands of private boats and planes. The Bermuda triangle area is actually a leading vacation area. Actually, many ships travel through the Bermuda Triangle. Many people believe that because it is so busy, that it is the reason for all the disappearances. For example, the more ships that travel there, there is a bigger probability for ships to disapear.
