You do not feel pain when you cut your nails because your nails do not contain any nerves that can cause pain.
It is HIGHLY RECCOMENDED that you take your guinea pig(s) to the vet to get their nails cut so they are cut proparly. if you try to cut their nails you may cut them to short to where that will cause them GREAT pain, even to the point where they may bleed. TAKE THEM TO THE VET SO NO HARM IS DONE. sak :)

well, there are several reasons for this pain: 1: did you cut them recently? if you did you might of cut them too short. 2: you might have low circulation, try to avoid to much presure. 3: are you anemic? (iron defficient) because i am and i had symptoms like these. 4: using nail polish extensively could result in this pain. 5:long periods of pressure to the fingertips could cause this pain. oh and one more thing, don't worry! I've had this pain hundreds of times and its not gonna kill you! sometimes putting ice or a cold object on my finger nails usually helps. when you have this pain try not to put to much pressure on your nail, like pressing a button to hard. this pain will go away in a few days so don't worry! :) hope this helped! - snickers
just because it`s cut to short it should not be in pain, if there are signs of blood or abrasions of being cut to short go to your vet immeditily also call the person who did this and ask did you notice what you did to my dog get to the bottem of the problem and even report them if they are not licensed to do this kind of work.
i think it is paralysis. when it is effected to the left brain we lose pain recepters of the righ arm and leg and vice versa. it`s feel.
