salt water fish drink alot of water compared to Freshwater Fish, their bodies and systems have been designed by god to cope with the salt. they are able to purge themselves of the salt in their diet. how they do it is a mystery to all but god.
salt water fish either drink saltwater or get the water it needs through their food. In any case its need for water is mininmal.
Fish don't need to drink Being completely immersed in water all the time, they've evolved other ways of maintaining the liquid content of their bodies.
Well i do not think they drink it they just breathe the o2 in the water but in a sense yes....
They get salt water by swimming in their and breathe so the salt water gets suck in then out the fish.
because their in the ocean
no osmosis is when water molecules wove out of a cell of any animal!
Sometime osmosis can be harmful for organism. For example when freshwater and saltwater aquarium fish placed in water of a different salinity than that they are adapted to will die quickly, and in the case of saltwater fish, dramatically.
do you mean out of a cell of a saltwater fish,if then: osmosis
Blood wastes are filtered by the kidneys. Saltwater fish lose water because of osmosis. Their kidneys return water to the body. The reverse happens in freshwater fish: they to gain water osmotically. Their kidneys produce dilute urine for excretion.
The word "Hypersmotic' relates to "Osmosis" and bears no relation to fish or their ability to live in salt water. It can not be used in the way you suggest and make any sense at all.
Well, there are 2 types of fish, saltwater fish, and freshwater fish. Only put in saltwater if you own a saltwater fish. Note: Saltwater fish could live safely in freshwater, but freshwater fish will suffocate in saltwater.
Saltwater fish as fish that live in water with a salinity of higher degree than brackish water, such as fish from the ocean. Clownfish (Nemo), Tangs (Dory), Tuna (Charlie) are commonly known saltwater fish.
Salt water
Some fish do, but not exactly like humans. Bony saltwater fish lose water by osmosis. To replenish the lost water, the fish need to drink.
"The answer to this question differs, depending on whether you're talking about saltwater fish or freshwater fish. Freshwater fish do not actively drink water, but absorb the water through their skin and gills. On the other hand, saltwater fish do actively drink sea water. Their gills process the water and take out the salt. The salmon is an interesting example of a fish that lives in both fresh and salt water, and consequently, they have the characteristics of both types of fish. Salmon are born in fresh water, and migrate to the ocean. While living in the ocean, they drink saltwater by opening their mouth; their gills then rid their bodies of the salt and minerals. When the salmon enters freshwater streams to spawn, they stop drinking the water and instead absorb it through osmosis (osmosis means that the water passes through the cells of the fish's skin into its body).
a salt water fish is a fish that lives in the ocean
Because saltwater fish can only breathe in saltwater (as in the ocean) and freshwater fish can only breathe in freshwater (as in tap water.)
