Oracle supports the development of large-scale, multi-user, multi-developer database applications, while MS Access is primarily single-user tables, reports, lists and usually simple applications.
Think Mac truck vs SmartCar.
Why Oracle Is So PopularIn a nutshell because for the longest time they had the best database with the best performance. DB2, SQLServer, and others have closed the gap, but they're still the Cadillac of databases. I know, I work with Oracle databases every day. I have been an Oracle DBA, Informix DBA and am now an HPNonStop Tandem DBA. Along with Oracle's performance, it is also easier to learn, administer and has the best GUI tools included with the product (meaning you don't have to purchase tools separately).I personally think Oracle leaves a lot to be desired. In my experience, Oracle seems to require many more resources to operate and upgrade than DB2. I would prefer DB2.
Some database professionals prefer platform-independent DBMS like Oracle Enterprise DB because they offer greater flexibility and portability across different operating systems and environments. This allows organizations to avoid vendor lock-in and adapt their database solutions to changing technology stacks. Additionally, platform independence can enhance scalability and performance, enabling easier integration with various applications and cloud services. Ultimately, this versatility helps organizations optimize their IT infrastructure and reduce costs.
Organisations own websites as it allows intrigued customers to explore their range and category. This can be very useful for finding trading hours, applying for a job application, opening hours and you may prefer surfing the catalogue rather than speaking to employees (usually caused by being shy) Organisations also create websites to expand their business and make their NAME well known. You may also live far away from a specific shop and double check if a item is in stock before driving 3 hours to find out its not.
