Pedophiles are attracted to young children the way normal sexual attraction happens between people who are of similar age (of an age to consent).
This is one reason the pedophile can't be rehabilitated and even aversion therapy works only in limited capacity. The pedophile believes the attraction is natural and mutual - he or she has no desire to change.
