Humans are born with a mildy caring nature and an urge to be right , for example a good guy sees another guy doing something wrong , so he goes right up and corrects the guy so no future mistakes are made. Another way of seeing things (if you want) at a worst angle , Muslims and christian have been arguing due to the fact that they both think they are right , christians say " There is only one god , god loves his white children , the black ones are impure humans who have commited bad deeds in their lives etc." Muslims say " all men are equal , god made us so, Allah is the one and only almighty etc. " What people do not realise is we are both right , only by believing in ourselves can we strengthen ourselves! I mean , who would just think "hey life is boring there is nothing else around us..." all the time when i do something risky , i pray. i realise this answer is going somewhere else. but when people realise that they are both right , its just one is more wrong than the other!(religion aside)So my answer is this ^
People argue to be right because being right is often associated with having power, influence, or control over a situation. It can also stem from a desire to maintain one's own self-esteem or to defend one's beliefs and values. Additionally, some people may enjoy the stimulation and intellectual challenge that comes from debating and proving their point.
Sometimes people do have to be right ,take it from me it's best not to argue.

because it is always right
There are two interpretations of your question: 1. Why does my boyfriend argue with me first and then argue with the people who cause us problems? 2. Why does my boyfriend argue with me rather than with the people who cause us problems? Which is it?
Argument. People who "argue" can be said to be having an "argument".
If you always argue, then perhaps you are not right for each other.

Bob and Rosie insisted that they were not arguing, only having a discussion. He was arrested for arguing with the state police.
it is basically just a fact of life and if we don't argue it wouldn't be right
