Why do people want to be a lawyer?

Truthfully, because most are liberal arts majors do not know what to do after graduating college and are mystified by the profession because television shows glamorize the profession, even though these same shows do not show all the grunt work that goes behind a trial or a court appearance.

I don't know why most of them choose to be a lawyer but some choose it for the money, it can be a very interesting profession depending on the type of law they choose to practice, it's challenging and can be very rewarding even though it's a lot of hard work.

People become lawyers because they feel the need to help others. Some become lawyers to help promote a cause such as environmental lawyers. The money is also a good motivator.
