When Mr. Mars was drinking a malted milk shake he decided to try to make a candy bar that would taste something like it. He concocted a nougat with eggwhites, milk, and flavorings then covered it all with chocolate. Then (drum roll please) the Milky Way was born.
People on Earth call it the Milky Way (in English).
galaxy well... the milky way itself is a constellation but we live in what we call the milky way galaxy.,
The MILKY WAY
Not "galaxies", just one galaxy. Our galaxy is called the Milky Way.
We (the carbon units who inhabit the Earth) have named our galaxy the "Milky Way". If there's anybody else out there, we have no idea what they call our galaxy, or whether they care.
Yes. It is not like the Earth owns the Milky Way but some of us Earthlings call the galaxy in which the solar system resides (with the Earth) for The Milky Way [Swedes call it "Vintergatan" (the Winter Road)]
Lots of people own little bits of the Milky Way galaxy. The Earth and everything on it is part of the Milky Way so if you own anything at all you too own a bit of the Milky Way. People themselves are also part of the Milky Way so in a way bits of the Milky Way own parts of the Milky Way.
Yes. The Milky Way is the name we give to our galaxy. All the stars we can see are in our own galaxy, so all the constellations we see are part of the Milky Way. At certain parts of the night sky we can see a dusty pattern through the sky which most people call the Milky Way. However, it is just part of it, and every star we can see is part of the Milky Way too, including the Sun and all the planets and of course Earth.
The milky way, and its a barred spiral galaxy.
No one named the Milky Way. It has been seen in the skies since people first looked.See related question for why it is called Milky Way
