Why do people hate failures?

Failure implies that something was attempted unsuccessfully. That which someone hoped to accomplish was not accomplished. The effort was futile, and further efforts will be needed if that particular objective is ever to be reached. Failure is generally an indication of wasted time and effort, and we all have only some much time and effort that we can invest into our various projects. The more we fail, the less we succeed. Failure means we did not get what we wanted.
