BYU has a large-fan base because they are a private university owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and many of the members of this church support this university. With 14 million church members around the globe, that makes for a pretty-large fan base! Not all of those 14 million are BYU fans, of course, but you get the idea.

There are three BYU locations. The main school is in Provo, Utah and is simply called BYU. There is also BYU-Idaho in Rexburg and BYU-Hawaii in Laie.

There isn't really a "BYU" alternative. Many who do not get into BYU Provo apply to attend BYU Idaho or BYU Hawaii. Many also apply to attend Utah Valley University (UVU) which is a state school in the same area as BYU.

No. You can get your undergraduate from Brigham Young University and then transfer to a medical school, if you would like. Many from BYU apply to medical school at the University of Utah.
