What did people do to destroy the Earth?

Because of a lack of foresight, Because our life is short we don't see the long run for clean up or pollution. We are too obsessed with money. Lack of education. Politics using buzzwords and bad policy instead of actually understanding and fixing the problem. People don't feel an individual effort will work. People are lazy. There are some many reasons and no Captain Planet to save us. We didn't know any better, and now it's too late. What people don't realize is that if we do extensive cleaning we can probably make the earth into a better planet, but we're doomed anyway because we are coming up with new ways to pollute it and we have the technology to make new products more enviromentally safe and we're not using it the right way. Plus we keep fearing global warming and think that will doom the earth. Global Warming is nothing more than a natural way for the earth to purify its self again. We can still save the earth until the sun dies.

We are not destroying the Earth. We are changing the environment on Earth. Change is impossible to stop, the environment changes all the time with or without us. Species die out all the time (over 90% of all species that ever lived were extinct before humans appeared), forests are killed by many types of animals, water is poisoned by many types of animals, etc. This is not hurting the Earth in any way, it's simply changing the environment. We are changing the environment a little faster than nature because we are building a civilization. People are our #1 priority, and civilization allows us to save people from hunger, cure diseases, stop violence, and generally make life better for us. Trees and frogs are a little further down our priority list.

Because people are always using there cars and never walk anywhere our cars,trucks, and any type of smoke are just killing our earth.
