Best Answer

People move from the countryside to the cities because:

  1. closer to mass transportation
  2. closer to needed services, like medical care
  3. closer to shopping
  4. unable to get around; elderly
  5. to enroll in educational institution
  6. to get a better job, more oppurtunities
  7. to downsize housing
  8. moved out of parents' home
  9. moved out of spouse's home; divorce
  10. needed to sell house / property

However, more people dream of moving from the city out into the countryside to have more space and freedoms. More people dream of owning a home versus renting.
