Why do people not answer seriously?

There are several reasons for less than serious answers. Sometimes, those who answer fall into the category of trolls. Trolls are people who post responses to get a rise out of people.

Then sometimes, those who answer are just children. By law and the rules of the site, those who participate here can be as young as 13. It is unconfirmed, but younger children do likely post here on occasion. Answers does try to remove underage users, but they likely cannot remove them all.

On some occasions, the question may be interpreted as a joke question. So if users think it is a joke, they will give joke responses.
