Of course some of the people who choose not to go to Bible study could either be atheists or agnostics but, because there is still some prejudice against non-Christian beliefs, prefer not to say so. They will simply say they prefer not to go to Bible Study, wiothout giving the real reason.
In other cases, people could be believing Christians but feel that Bible study is irrelevant or boring. You need to make Bible study more interesting and more relevant to their faith.

One way to become a Bible apologist is to practice answering questions for people as is done here on Wikianswers. I have done this and now am a supervisor here to help people find answers they need. The more you practice answering questiions such as these, the better you will get at it. Learn to think through things, not just answer off the top of your head. Get some basic Bible Study tools like concordances, dictionaries, and different versions of the Bible. Get a good computer Bible look up program like Quick Verse for under 40 dollars. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom. Check yourself with others you know are right on in their doctrine so you don't go off on theological tangents that are dangerous. God bless you as you study. Remember what Timothy says: "Study to show yourself approved." There is no substitute for Bible Study. Stick with it and you can become an apolgist. You could also go to college and get degrees in Bible, but it begins with personal consistent Bible study.
