There are people on the site that take answers seriously and answer them with the most detailed, informational, best answer that they can but then a anonymous or new user comes along and posts spam and garbage. Usually, supervisors are the most neatest, but other people can be neat too. It's just a matter of how lazy you are, if you are lazy you will most likely use text chat which is hard to understand and informal. It would be nice if everyone could help the site more and work harder.
The answers on this site often seem random because anyone can answer questions and edit answers. This has a downside as some people are do not have the correct information, or will even intentionally provide false information or nonsense.
Contributors who swear in their questions and answers should be reported to a Super so that the appropriate action can be taken. As always, feel free to flag WikiAnswers questions and answers that do not conform to the WikiAnswers guidelines so that Supers may take appropriate action.
Yes, there are. All of my answers are correct. I do research before I submit the answers. Some people act silly though and do not take this seriously. Look around the website and you are sure to find proper answers. -Eugenie
Take a look at Yahoo! Answers, by comparison, we are fantastic!
New questions on WikiAnswers do take a long time to get answered, but I wouldn't say that it's the worst place to look up answers. WikiAnswers works great for finding answers to common questions, and it does a good job of answering questions when you know ask right. Check out the related questions below for some ways to get better answers on WikiAnswers.
I take a look at the answer and draw a conclusion based on many things. I will take an answer that has correct spelling, punctuation and grammar much more seriously than any answer without those things. I will take a look at the contributors and see if there are things that would lead me to trust their answers. An attorney who posts and answer to a legal question is going to be more trusted then a teenager. Bottom line is that I look at the answers and determine how accurate they are. I wouldn't typically trust it as the final answer, but it will certainly give me ideas about where to find other sources and validate the answer or prove it wrong.
Signing your answers just simply isn't allowed. The goal of WikiAnswers isn't to take credit for answers, but to help out the community with their questions.
While WikiAnswers is a good source of information, it does not take the place of books. WikiAnswers gives answers to specific questions but it does not give you a story or cover such broad subjects that books can.
No one answers your questions because they don't feel like searching the entire WikiAnswers just to answer your question. There are a lot of questions here on Wiki and it will take a long time for them all to be answered.
That depends on how fast people post the questions. And on how fast the question gets noticed, how quickly a person types, etc.
Like all "wikis", WikiAnswers is open to all who would like to contribute. Though not all have bad intentions, some do purposefully try to vandalize this site. This causes some viewers to not completely trust what is posted at WikiAnswers. WikiAnswers cannot always be trusted (especially) with opinion questions, due to its openess to anyone, who have the ability to change the answer.
As many as we can. Sometimes there is no simple answer, or there is no one who has the answer immediately. Some questions take longer to get answers, because everyone here is a volunteer.
