And housework is not very fulfilling when someone is used to meeting new people all day and do work you happily studied many years for to get. Because it was your dream. Meeting other moms easily leads to talking only baby-related stuff. Something your other friends get quickly bored of. Staying home with a baby is necessary, joyful and stressful but many feel that after that they want to get back to civilization where people can sit down and talk about adult stuff and you don't have to cut their food. Daycare also means the children get to know new friends and learn to socialize. Many feel they start to lose themselves, the person they were before they became parents. The one with hobbies and interests in life. The one who had time to read a book that did not just have pictures in it.
