First off, why do you assume people pollute the air. Volcanic activity and forest fires contribute more "pollution" to the atmysphere then human activity. These are natural occurances....are they bad? If people are to have any quality of life on earth, we are going to consume resorces. Do you want to live in a cave...in the dark? I don't. There are things we can and should do to reduce the amount of pollution we contribute and if you look at the real numbers, the earth is allot cleaner now then it was in 1970. There are people that want nothing more than to control others and scaring people is the fastest way to make people give up their freedoms.
