Yes, he did, his poem "Let America be America again" was written in 1938 and if you read that and Martin Luther's 'I have a Dream' speech, you'll find many similar phrases and passages, Martin Luther's speech wasn't until 1963 :)
Like all adults, Martin Luther King had issues. He tried, like many of us, to be an upstanding man. He failed, like all of us from doing so everyday. There is evidence he had affairs and enjoyed a drink or two on ocassion. This does not change, or at least should not change, what he accomplished as a human being. There is an old saying about casting the first stone.....
