Why do so many people follow Jesus?

Because he claimed to be God. He validated his claims by performing miracles. When questioned by the religious establishment regarding such claims, they asked for another "sign." Jesus responded, "destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again." Three days following his crucifixion he rose from the dead. The body is often called a temple in The Bible.

Even his enemies, those who crucified him testified that he had in fact risen from the dead. The Bible states that the Pharisees bribed the guards to say that the disciples stole the body (an admission that there no longer was a body present). However, if his disciples stole they body, why would they be so willing to die (all were martyred- except John) for a belief that would be based on their personal deceit. The disciples, his enemies, his half brothers, and Paul (a former persecutor of Christians) all believed they saw the resurrected Jesus.

This is why people follow Jesus.

Jesus claimed he was God, "Before Abraham was, I am" - the same way by which God revealed himself to Moses. Jesus was the second person if the trinity - full man and full God.

Probably for the same reason they do today. Since they recognized He was God in human form, they worshiped Him. This would have been sacriligeous if He had not been God and if this was so, He would also have forbidden it.

The reason for the prostration for Daniel was because he was a king, anointed by God and worthy of respect. Jesus was worshiped by his disciples as, in the words of Thomas to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)

Jesus never claimed to be an earthly King but stated to Pilate 'my kingdom is not of this world.' This, together with the context in each case determines that people recognized that Jesus was worthy of worship.

It was a common use (to show respect and thanks), amongst the ancient people. the people did not know better.

Funny that the bible is revised by 30 Christian scholars of the highest eminants, backed by 50 co-operating dominations, and that same bible gives this verse above as the (best translation), and yet if a christian doesn't like it, he grabs another version... that is not translated by the best earn christians of this moment!!!

Look look the king James version , it says worshipped, look at the Hebrew word (original text), again it says worshipped.
