Which is pretty dumb, right? All you need to know is that Ben Franklin discovered that electricity is drawn to metal and that Thomas Edison merely discovered what you could burn for an incredibly long period of time in a vacuum tube, which happened to be cardboard. His invention was later adapted to be put into modern day homes where the lighting of this could be controlled by the flick of a switch.
