∙ 14y agoDefinitely, yes. High blood sugar (hyperglycemia) makes the blood oxidize (burn) the tissues of capillaries and the nerve endings nearest them, and affects the feet first. As capillaries and nerves are damaged, feet become tingly, numb, and eventually damaged and can need to be amputated.
