Why do people write messages to the dead as if the dead have survived their death and could somehow still read a facebook post for example?

I would guess that the people who write that will either believe in an afterlife, or they want to express their feelings so that the living can read them, or both.

It is not possible that your mum is seeing your messages. She is making everything up to make sure that you behave well. ~ reply~ No she can see my facebook messages she knows everything ! Stop telling me that she can't please everyone because she can.
