All the Periwinkles are safe to eat. Find them by the sea, at low tide, on the rocks and under the seaweeds.
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here but I know tide pools consist of many types of marine creatures, sea stars, octopus, periwinkles basically anything that gets caught when the tide goes in. Some types of gastropods can be found in tide pools, and if you don't know this a gastropod can be referred to as pretty much a snail. Gastro meaning stomach and pod meaning foot.
Marsh periwinkles feed on algae, bacteria and plant detritus. Also, here is a bit of info about there habbitat/where they can be located: As their name suggests, marsh periwinkles are abundant in the marshes of the middle and lower Bay. They can be found on the stems of smooth cordgrass and other marsh plants growing between the high and low tide marks. Marsh periwinkles are also sometimes found on rocks and jetties.
The tide regularly goes in and out.
it stays by using its slimy slime to stick on the rocks after the tide goes out
Mainly for protection to potential predators like seabirds (if the tide is out)
The best time to look for shells on the beach is in the early morning. You can go out anytime from an hour before or after high tide and will find a variety of shells on the beach.
They have shells that are closeable during low tide.
You can get Shoal Shells and Shoal Salt to make into Shell Bells here. Salt at low tide, shells at high tide, I think. Maybe be reversed. There is no real purpose to the cave and the game can be completed without entering it.
If you are considering putting periwinkles into your saltwater reef tank, don't. Though they are of no danger to your inhabitants, periwinkles are cold water snails. Yes, they can live in 82 degree tide pools for limited amounts of time, but they will NOT survive more than 3 months in your aquarium. Periwinkles are typically bought in bulk online and I'm sure you can imagine what happens to your marine ecosystem when 50-100 snails die within a week of each other.
You have to go to the Shoal Cave and get four Shoal salt, and four Shoal Shells. To get Shoal Shells go when there is high tide from 9am-3pm, and 3am-9am. To get shoal salt go when there is low tide from 3pm-9pm, and 9pm-3am.
