Plants need mitochondria and chloroplasts because of their photosynthetic ability. Without these two major key organisms, this important process could not take place. The chloroplasts are where photosynthesis actually takes place, so without them, photosynthesis wouldn't have a place to occur or wouldn't happen at all! Mitochondria generates ATP/energy for photosynthesis through respiration. In conclusion, all parts of the cell are important!

Why must plant cells have both mitochondria and chloroplasts?

Plants need both mitochondria and chloroplasts to maintain a healthy plant. The mitochondria power the plant when the chlorophyll is stunted by lack of sunlight.

Why do plant cells need both chloroplasts and michondria?

Chloroplasts are needed for photosynthesis. Mitochondria is needed for respiration

Why chloroplast need mitochondria and mitochondria need chloroplasts?

Chloroplasts need mitochondria because they provide energy in the form of ATP for chloroplast functions, such as photosynthesis. Similarly, mitochondria need chloroplasts because they rely on carbon compounds produced by photosynthesis in chloroplasts for their energy production through cellular respiration. This mutual interdependence ensures the efficient functioning of both organelles in plant cells.

Why do plant cell have chloroplast and animals do not?

Plants cells have chloroplasts because they need it for a process called photosynthesis. But both plant and animal cells have mitochondria. Animal cells can use the mitochondria to get energy that why they need chloroplast.

Do photosynthetic plants have mitochondria and chloroplasts?

Almost all plants have mitochondria. Plants use these mitochondria to release the energy from the glucose that is stored inside them (The glucose is obtained via Photosynthesis).

Why do plant cells also need chloroplasts and mitochondria?

Chloroplasts are very important. They are responsible for photosynthesis.Mitochondria are important for respiration.

Why does a plant need chlorolst and the mitochondria?

Chloroplast is needed for photosynthesis. Mitochondria is needed for respiration

Does an animal or plant cell have mitochondria?

They are in both. Both need mitochondria to respire

How do plant cells need both chloroplasts and mitochondria?

Chloroplasts are for photosynthesis.Mitochondria are for respiration.

Both plant and animal cells have mitochondria because they both?

Chloroplasts and mitochondria are similar in that they both maintain some autonomy from the cell. They both contain their own genetic material separate from the nucleus of the cell. This has lead to the endosymbiotic theory - which states that chloroplasts and mitochondria were once unicellular organisms engulfed by and then incorporated into another cell.

Why do both plant and animal cells need mitochondria?

Both plant and animal cells need mitochondria because they are essential for energy production through cellular respiration. Mitochondria convert nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of the cell, which is vital for various cellular processes. While plant cells also have chloroplasts for photosynthesis, mitochondria play a crucial role in breaking down organic molecules to release energy, making them indispensable for both types of cells.

Is the mitochondria found in a animal cell or a plant cell?

It is in both. Both need it for respiration
