Plants make there own food because we will not always be there to give it to them. The plants have to survive. But actually, the plants don't really make -food- They get nutrients from the ground to help them grow.
I hope this answered your question a little bit :)
They dont have chloroplasts. Plants have them.
Parasitic plants do not prepare their own food. These plants take it from the host plants generally through haustoria.
Plants have got chlorophyll in them. With the help of the chlorophyll, plant synthesize their food in presence of light. So plants have always prepared their own food.

Because insectivoures plants also prepare their own food besides supplimenting it with insect proteins.
Plants that cannot prepare their own food are called heterotrophic plants. These plants rely on other organisms for their nutrition, such as fungi in the case of mycoheterotrophic plants or host plants in the case of parasitic plants. Examples include Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora) and dodder (Cuscuta spp.).
The animals prepare their food from the plants to eat them
the process in which green plants prepare their own food with the help of air, water, sunlight is called photosythesis
