Why do rappers and young white and black people rub their hands when they talk?

Young black males slap hands when they meet as a term of endearment to say hello. They clasp hands and do a grip and then do a hug behind the hand grip. This is a black thing and not a white thing amongst black people. White people will not understand this movement because they're white.
