Scientists think that Europa ,one of the satellites of Jupiter must have life in it as it is believed that the satellite is purely covered by thick sheet of ice, which is the solid state of water .it is also believed that the satellite also answers the Urey- Miller Hypothesis

Well in order for a planet to have life it must not be too hot or too cold. It must have the right atmosphere and it should have water. Europa might be to cold but scientists think if there are hot underwater springs like there is on earth, It could give the heat for life but there are other reasons why Europa would not have life. The hole surfuce of the planet is coverd in ice. This means the ice blocks the sun's light from getting in the planet and this is a problem because plants require light to grow. So if the plants on Europa can not get light then animals cant eat the plants. Well that might make you think the planet only has carnivores but if the planet only had carnivores then the carnivores will eat each other until there is no life. If there are no plants there is no life but some plants don't need light to grow. Like a mushroom but plants like that eat off other plants and if there is no plants to eat off it won't do well either. That's my theory of why there is no life on Europa but I think scientists try to look for life on other planets because they would like to find life. I would also like to know if there is life and if god just made life on one or many planets?.

Europa has an extensive atmosphere, more than four times denser at the surface than our own, and possessing a rich organic chemistry thanks to abundant nitrogen and some methane. Its surface pressure is also similar to the Earth's. So far, Titan is the only object in our Solar System - or anywhere for that matter - which has such characteristics. The startling similarities between this moon and the early Earth are highlighted, raising an interesting question: could there be life on this world?

Because an ocean of water is believed to exist deep under its surface. If there is life it will be some type of oceanic life. The problem of course is the this moon is bathed in radiation from Jupiter's magnetic field. If the ice on the surface is capable of filtering this remains to be seen.

At the moment we are unsure. There is a "good" possibility, but until a probe is sent to Europa to "first" determine the depth of the ice crust and whether there is an actual ocean under the crust, and then a second to actually burrow under this crust, and analyse, what life forms "might" exist.

The potential is high, but until evidence is obtained, the answer is no.

They believe there is liquid water underneath its frozen surface. If there is liquid water on Europa, there might also be life.

Why do scientists think Mars and Europa are good places to look for signs of life?

Because Mars and Europa are considered two of the most likely places to find liquid water. Mars is thought to have tiny amounts of water that become liquid in it's soil, theoretically allowing some particularly resilient forms of bacteria to survive, and there may be relatively large bodies of water deep beneath Mars's surface. Europa is thought to have a global underground ocean (similar to the way Earth has an underground global magma "ocean") with a volume greater than all the water on Earth.

Which Galilean moon is best to live on?

For humans, I'd say Callisto. Callisto is the farthest of the Galilean moons from Jupiter, and orbits outside Jupiter's powerful radiation belts, so it would be the least dangerous to land on. It also has ample water ice, and possibly even an underground ocean (as do Europa and Ganymede), so it could be a useful resource for us. For any kind of life though, I'd say Europa. Europa almost certainly has a thick underground ocean with more water than all of Earth's oceans combined - we're more certain of this than we are for Ganymede and Callisto, and their oceans are locked away under much more ice than Europa's, so they'd never get any sunlight. Europa's core is also thought to be hotter than Ganymede and Callisto's, as it is closer to Jupiter and gets flexed more by its gravity. Underwater volcanoes, hot springs and black smokers could provide havens for bacteria in Europa's warm oceans. Not a good place to set up a human colony, though! And I think we shouldn't do that anyway, just in case we contaminate Europa's ocean and then accidentally "discover" our own "alien life" down there...

Because there might be water on it, but it's one of Jupiter's moons, so you're probably never going to live there...

Where is the last point in Europe?

The last point in Europe is in a place called Gibraltar , british country next to Spain. The last point of Europe is at the edge of Gibraltar which is called europa point. It is just off the Gibraltar straits, and it is opposite Morroco. Europa point is marked by a red and white lighthouse and a rugby field. It is a good place for fishing as it is a cliff. Two ships have sunken right off europa point, as it is very dangerous and the rocks can come very high.

Europa one of Jupiter's moons is a good candidate for having some form of life because?
