Why do sheriffs come looking for someone?
The Sheriff and his Deputies are law enforcement offices who have the authority to enforce BOTH criminal AND civil law (Police departments can only enforce criminal law!) They are also the agency that the court uses to serve the court's papers and enforce the court's orders.
They are not looking for someone to do their homework for them. They are researching for information to include in their homework. Part of homework includes doing research. Looking on the internet or asking questions here is absolutely no different to looking things up in a book from the library. Teachers fully encourage students to research.

Someone wanting to build their portfolio and was looking to invest in property for sale in the Northwest of England should look in the real estate sections of the newspapers that come out in that area. By looking at the newspaper from that local area, someone could see what properties were for sale.
