Live bearing fish eat their babies because, by nature, fish do not protect their young: they are more interested in finding food. Baby fish are just more food for the adult fish. Procreation is an instinctive thing, but they have no sense of protecting them once they are born.

animals like birds some Spiders mongeese and ect. eat their animals because of offsprings if the animal is not treated properly (not fed than eats egg)good source of protein and energy boost

they might be hungry or scared, some animals eat their young because otherwise the predator will get them - rather the parent than the predator
