I'm not a military verteran, but I would guess the reasons for military veterans feeling unloved and unimportant are as vast as for non-veterans, making it impossible to generalize the reasons over the entire group. Add: Some veterans have been to war and fought for the way of life many people enjoy. Yet when they return they are treated with disrespect, bitterness and sometimes even open scorn. They are called vile names, physically abused and treated with contempt by the very people they sought to protect. This happens at a time when most of them have lived through the horrors of watching friends die and having to kill or be killed. They are emotionally vunerable and when people should be thanking them and helping them, the exact opposite happens. This leaves permanent emotional scars that never heal.
Some military veterans may feel unloved and unimportant due to a combination of factors. These can include a lack of support and understanding from the civilian population who may not fully grasp their experiences, challenges in transitioning back to civilian life, and a sense of isolation or disconnection from society. Additionally, veterans may also struggle with mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or depression, which can further contribute to these feelings.

Tell him. He can't read your mind - though you might think he should!
I have the same problem and I hate it cause I feel so unloved and ugly
veterans feel this because they are probobly lonely. I feel this feeling too. You get the feeling that your family cares a little less. you some times get the feeling that no body cares. but that is not true. Veterans save a lot of lives and people should be proud of them. And they are. So veterans should not feel this way
Yes, because they will feel very unloved and neglected if their names aren't respected. :(
Because they feel unloved or unwanted.
Being ignored or neglected makes you feel like you are rejected or that you do not fit in. If it your parents or a family member ignores or neglects you, it can make you feel like you are unloved.
