When you ride a bus why do you fall forward when the bus stops moving?

This happens because of the force inertia, which is "the property of matter by which it retains its state of rest or its velocity along a straight line so long as it is not acted upon by an external force" according to dictionary.com. This means that if something is moving it will keep its velocity or movement the same and keep going even if the thing it is in stops, like a car slamming on its brakes and the passengers jerking forward.

What cause a kite to fall to the ground when the wind stops?

gravity

Why do babies always fall?

Because they have such a heavy head, and light body, which causes them to fall forward

Does a bottle thrown from a speeding car continue to move forward or instantly fall to the ground?

It moves forward at the same speed the car is traveling. It will fall to the ground in short order.

Is it possible for us to get up from a chair without bending forward?

Standing requires your feet to be under the center of balance. Otherwise you will fall over. When you stand up from a chair, your feet are normally somewhat in front of you. You compensate by leaning forward to move your center of balance forward.So... standing up from a chair without leaning forward might be achieved by one (or a combination) of the following:With a chair that has open legs, put your feet as far back as possible, perhaps balancing on your toes and stand straight up.Scoot forward in the chair to effectively move your center of balance forward to the point where you can stand up.Support yourself with your arms or some device until you can move forward enough to get your center of balance under yourself.

Does a rider fall forward when his horse stops suddenly?

True ... it's called inertia.

A seat belt helps you when your car stops suddenly by providing?

The seat belt makes an balance forward force because when the car stops you fall forward and the seat belt makes it so the force in your body stays balanced. So it becomes an balanced forward force.

When a train suddenly moves forward the passenger standing in the compartment tends to fall backward?

Yes--because of Newton's first law, the passenger wishes to stay in its constant state of motion, which is standing still in this case. Hence, when the train starts to move forward, the passenger will want to stay at the point he/she was and will fall backwards.

Why do you fall farward in the car when the car stops?

It is the law of inertia bringing you forward while the car stops, the law of inertia states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest, while an object in motion tends to stay in motion.

Why do passengers tend to fall sideways when the bus takes a sharp u turn?

this is called the centrifugal force.....and force of inertia... The direction the bus was travelling is passed to the passengers. If the bus turns or stops quickly the passenger continues in the direction the bus was moving. Newton Laws of Motion.

What is the minimum distance to fall and die?

the minimum distance to fall and die would be standing on the ground, but it really depends on how you fall and what you hit. If you hit your head hard enough you could die from standing on the ground.

Passangers in a car tend to fall forward when the driver suddenly hits the brakes because the passangers have what and what deos this mean?

The answer, in short, is INERTIA. Inertia is resistance to changes in motion, and is proportional to mass. Newton's 1st Law of Motion tells us that objects in motion will remain in motion (in a straight line) unless acted upon by an external force. In the example given, the passengers (objects) pitch forward when the driver hits the brakes in a forward-moving car (providing the external force) because their bodies possess inertia separate from the inertia of the moving car. The car slows down due to the braking, but the passengers' separate inertia(s) will cause them to keep moving forward until restrained by an outside force (seatbelt, dashboard, windshield, etc.) Larger, heavier passengers will pitch forward with more force (inertia is proportional to mass, remember?).
