Because in China, the boys are more capable of hard labor, the women are supposed to stay home and do housework, nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mom. But because men can do more manual labor and such, the Chinese see them as more beneficial since they can be better providers for them when they are old, but they also earn better wages than females, seeing as they-again-can do more manual labor.Another reason may be that boys carry on the family name/bloodline when they get married, while girls do not carry on the bloodline.
