Use of cannabis is a religious ceremonial practice that Rastafari use to worship and meditate. They consider cannabis to be the Tree of Life from The Bible. They call it Ganja. It has been said that the plant is "the healing of the nations."
The group will join together to smoke it and discuss truth. Cannabis is attributed to have the ability to make the truth more clear. They also think of the use of this herb as a way to become closer to nature.
Rastafari consider Jah, Haile Selassie I, to be "His Imperial Majesty" and will dedicate the pipes to him before smoking from them. It is not a requirement to use marijuana to follow the Rastafarian religion, but many use it as a regular part of their worship. It symbolizes a burning of the corruption from the human heart in their philosophy, and, "The herb is the key to new understanding of the self, the universe, and God. It is the vehicle to cosmic consciousness."
First off. It is against the rastafarian belief to consume alcohol, take drugs, or insert anything into your body that wasn't made by god. People associate rastafarians with marijuana because of the sterotype given by Bob Marley and many reggae songs. Secondly rastafarianism is a religion not a type of person. Thirdly, if u don't drink alcohol, or smoke cigs, or take any man made medications or drugs, wouldn't you smoke marijuana if there wasn't any other mind altering relaxing substance that you could consume, and you wanted to alter your mind? Just sayinn, for the few rastafarians that do smoke weed. Ugh I hate society.
They don't, they refrain from tobacco and smoke marijuana.
No! Are you crazy! Do you want your baby to get cancer!

No. But with all the new mj substitutes popping up it could be a possibility in the future. As long as it's just natural wild dagga then you're fine. But if it's a product claiming to be wild dagga based then I wouldn't trust it, they try to sell herbal mixtures that claim to be 100% natural but they spray it with synthetic cannabinoid wich could trigger a positive on the thc test or make u fail the new spice tests
