Because they like to run and are good at it.

I'd say about 7 or 9.
Usally Wolfs or Huskies considering how humans use Huskies for sleding....
Although huskies are often considered pets by dog lovers, they are known to be working dogs. The main use for huskies is to pull ones sled in northern regions where there is a lot of snow.
People From Antarctica , Polar North , and other places that have snow in them everyday use huskies.
They use them to pull sleds
Alaskan Huskys, Malamutes,siberian Huskys
Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes are my opinion for the best dogs for the iditarod because that is what these breeds are meant to do. They have a tough, thick coat that will keep them warm in the very cold weather. And they have very strong paws and legs. Things like the iditarod are one of the reasons these dogs are in this world today. This is my opinion but it makes sense to me.
I think it's Huskies.
Yes .. Siberian Huskies are the purest of Huskies and are one and the same.
No, Malamuyes were (historically) bred to pull heavyloads, not to run fast. Siberian Huskies are better suited for the Iditarod race.
Yes, Eskimos, or more accurately, Inuit people, traditionally use huskies, specifically Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Huskies, for transportation and sledding in cold environments. These dogs are well-suited to harsh Arctic conditions and have been integral to hunting, travel, and survival. The strong bond between the Inuit and their sled dogs is a vital aspect of their culture and lifestyle.
