Tornados don't always cause damage, it depends on how strong it is and whats in its path, but generally speaking tornadoes cause chaos because it picks debris up and throws it all around , causing structural damage and blocked roads. That's depending that the tornado isn't a strong one and just picks up houses and destroy them, in that case im sure you can see how it may cause chaos.

What does it mean if you dream about a lot of tornadoes in the sky at the same time and destroy everything around me but I know how to avoid it?

Tornadoes in dreams represent chaos that is beyond your ability to control. Seeing a lot of tornadoes in your dream emphasizes the extent of the chaos you feel in your life. Although you have no way to control this chaos, your own mind is telling you, through this dream, that you do have the ability to avoid the effects of that chaos.
