First of all is this a trick question or are you seriously not aware of vocabulary? A veteren is a surviver of a war and they drink in VFWs all over the country on Saturday afternoons . However the unfortunate who do give their lives probally wouldn't do so if they had a choice. Most deaths the victim doesn't even know they have been fatally wounded( an old Army saying is "you never hear the bullet that kills you")Others volunteer for a dangerous mission knowing they may not come out of it alive, these are called Heros. Every person who served and saw action in my opinion is a hero.

they fought for our country so that we may have the freedom of religion, speech, and the way we want to live our lives. china is saying that the government says what the newspapers say......

we have the freedom to put in whatever we want!!!!!!!!!

that is huge!!!!! we are free to gossip, and we can say whatever we want about Obama and the democrats and say whatever we want about whomever!!!!!!!

the veterans gave us that by fighting so that we arn't controlled by dictators. thank them.

The short version of this answer is one word, freedom

This is because they want to protect the country in which they live and protect the freedoms and rights that go along with that country.

Veterans served for a variety of reasons. Some served to get away from home, some for a education, some following in family footsteps, and some following their dreams.
