some people go to a prestigious high school because it makes them look good or rich, shows that they may have lots of money, looks good on cv, want to impress people, etc
some people go to a prestigious highschool because it has good education, want to be with friends, offers a range of activities, follow others, etc
if you really want to know you should ask someone who goes to a prestigious highschool or maybe a parent who enrolled their child to the prestigious highschool!
