When we watch television we become desensitized. We see so many bad things happening in the world that we become familiar with them and they do not seem to bother us as bad as they would have bothered our parents or grandparents. We tend to sit around all day watching television and we do not go out and promote physical activity that makes us become obese and very unhealthy.

No there is no flying potatoes in the history of the history of the entire ecosystem and solar system! --- I disagree, check out any Photoshop UFO enthusiasts websites and you will find photographs of flying potatoes and even the odd car hubcap or Frisbee. There are plenty of reliable eye witnesses who are happy to appear on TV for the customary $1000 interview fee who are willing to swear that they have seen flying potatoes.
