Jesus did not die on Friday. He actually died on a Wednesday and rose on a Saturday. He spent Wednesday night, Thursday day, Thursday night, Friday day, Friday night, Saturday day in the grave just as he said he would do. "Just as Jonah spent 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the fish, so the son of man will spend 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth." It is believed that Jesus rose from the dead at 6pm on Saturday so that the prophecy would be fulfilled.
Jonah 1:17 (KJV) Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Matthew 12:40 (KJV) For as Jonas was three days and three night's in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Saturday, then Sunday, then Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday, then back to Friday. If you are thinking of it in "Christian terms", then after Good Friday comes Holy Saturday, and then Easter Sunday.
