Why do we have global warming?

We have global warming because of deforestation and fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

When we discovered coal, and how powerful it was in driving steam engines, we were delighted. This was 300 years ago, and we didn't realise then that the carbon dioxide (CO2) from the burning coal would be too much for the carbon cycle to remove.

We didn't realise that by cutting down the forests all over the world this would mean that more carbon dioxide would be left in the atmosphere.

We didn't understand then, about the greenhouse effect, and that greenhouse gases building up in the air capture more and more of the sun's heat.

Now we understand, but governments and people won't make the hard decisions to save our children and grandchildren from a hot and dangerous future!

(The hard decisions are, of course, to change from fossil fuel to renewable energy, and to replant thousands of forests!)

You may not want to believe what I'm about to say, but the reason Earth is facing Global Warming is because of humans. We are causing Global Warming because

  1. We are polluting the air with our big cars, factories, power stations, landfills, (Burning Fossil fuels)
  2. We are chopping down all the forests. (Deforestation)

(The forests are a home to many animals who are endangered because their home is being chopped down significantly) to make paper and a lot more. you see, we pollute the air, the trees eat the carbon dioxide in the air and replace with fresh, clean oxygen. With less trees and more polluted air, it is unbalanced.

The polluted air rips up the the Ozone layer, the Earth's protection from everthing on the outside including the sun. The sun is extremely hot and the ozone layer protects Earth from getting too hot. Since there are many holes in the ozone layer, the sun goes through the holes, and makes everthing hot (duh). This melts the glaciers in the polar areas (that causes all the animals, especially polar bears, to swim further for their food and they normally drown). So if the ice melts, there is more water. That causes drowning to the animals and i can only imagine it will flood the Earth soon killing us all (sorry, that's a little disturbing. But there's a bright side).

We can stop that from happening. It takes such a little effort.

One: recycle everything! especially paper. Paper is trees that normally gets thrown in the landfill on to pollute more and making us cut down more trees. recycling saves more trees from being cut down and reuses old paper by making it new again! that reduces the amount of waste going into the landfill! yaay!

Two: Reduce fossil fuel use! Stop driving the big gas-guzzlers. exchange them for a hybrid! or, you could stop driving altogether and take public transportation!

Three: Buy more eco-friendly products with less packaging!

Four: Do some research on more ways to live easily and be good to the environment too. their are so many different ways to love the Earth.

Anyway, i hope i explained your question about the climate crisis, or global warming. remember, if we all do one little thing to help solve global warming, it will make a big difference!

The world is going through global warming because since 1750 or so we have been cutting down the world's forests. This means that they no longer remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they used to.

As well as that we discovered fossil fuels, coal, oil and natural gas. Burning these for industry, transport and electricity generation releases all the old carbon that has been underground for millions of years. This extra greenhouse gas is too much for the natural cabon cycle to deal with, so it remains in the atmosphere, trapping more and more of the sun's heat, and causing global warming.

A:

Weather is cyclic, and the world has gone through warming periods before. Recently, Greenland's glaciers were shown to be much larger than was being reported, and some scientists are even predicting a mini ice age. Time will decide how much we humans are impacting the environment, but clean air and water are things we all should be concerned with, and preservation of land for endangered species is paramount. Good management practices can work however, and provide the neccessities for life on this planet.

We should all be concerned about global warming because of the harm it can do to our planet, our society and our economy. Global warming threatens climate change that will result in widespread species extinction, droughts in some areas but more frequent severe floods in others, sea level rises that, along with higher storm surges, could result in entire populations having to abandon their homes, and more intense storm activity that will cause economic hardship.

A:

The Arctic Climate Impact Assessment, an international project of the Arctic Council ( a high-level intergovernmental forum) and the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), created for evaluating and synthesize knowledge on climate variability, climate change, and increased ultraviolet radiation and their consequences, have arrived to the conclusion that the concentration of greenhouse effect gases and the rising of temperatures will cause the melting of the ice caps, the rising of sea levels, increased storms, decreased water in lakes and rivers, radical changes in weather behavior, reduced animal health, increase of insects population and drying of wetlands and other inland areas with simultaneous floods and increased rain in coastal regions.

The suspected reasoning is a hole in the ozone. Many suspect that is was cause by aerosol spray cans.

Why does global warming decrease temperatures?

True global warming does not decrease temperatures. So, either the model for global warming's effects is hokus-pokus, or global warming as presently claimed, does not exist. Some global warming followers will have you believe that global warming makes the weather "act crazy". If true, then it is not really global warming, is it.

Is global warming a pollution?

Global warming in itself isn't pollution - global warming is the gradual warming of the earth. However, global warming was caused by carbon dioxide pollution in the atmosphere, but global warming in itself isn't a pollution. yes it is a pollution
