Why do we need carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide is used in life jackets which often contain canisters of pressured carbon dioxide for quick inflation. High concentrations can also be used to kill pests, such as the common moth ball. The gas is used commonly to produce carbonated soft drinks and soda water. Leavening agents produce carbon dioxide to cause dough to rise, it extinguishes flames and some fire extinguishes especially those designed for electrical fires, contain liquid carbon dioxide under pressure. Plants require it to conduct photosynthesis and green houses may enrich their atmospheres with additional CO2 to boost plant growth.

Carbon Dioxide can be used for Fizzy drinks, Car fuels, etc. It can also be found in chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) from old fridges and freezers but can be harmful to the environment so usually if you have thrown one away the CFCs will have been removed.

carbon dioxide is needed for the trees. we need oxygen and they need carbon. we breathe out carbon dioxide and somehow i guess trees breathe out oxygen and then everyones happy!!

answ2. Carbon dioxide is produced by volcanoes, and since the Algae invented photosynthesis, (about 2.4x109 years ago) we have had plants to suck up CO2 and give out O2. And grow lots of trees and grass and fruit. Which is a good idea.

we need carbon dioxide, as it is one of the greenhouse gasses, the gasses are what make up our atmosphere. Without an atmosphere, we wouldn't be able to survive, as the conditions would be unfavourable.
