Wolves usually don't kill animals such as deer, rabbits, elk, moose, etc. unless hungry and with deer, elk and moose they usually only kill the sick or old, so they basically help the herd by killing off the animals that can wipe out the herd or make it weaker. And with other wolves or dogs, they only kill if they feel that they can only survive if they kill the animal, their only protecting themselves and their pack. And with the whole human killing things...it's only because humans are sometimes stupid and get too close, but just to let you know, more wolves die than all the animals they kill. About 20 humans have died of a wolf attack in around 100 years, it's as likely as getting hit by lightning three times and living. =)
